With
every step you take your foot hits the ground with a force equal to twice
your body weight
(and up to eight times your body weight during sporting activities). For anyone who participates in any kind of sport at whatever level, it is essential that the feet and legs are maintained in their ideal Biomechanical position. This will certainly reduce the risk of future injuries as well as helping to improve performance and speed up recovery |

The
position of the foot or shoe on the ground not only influences the ankle
but also the leg, knee, hip, pelvis and spine. Only reducing the excessive
movement within the feet and ankles can the strength and stability of
the body be improved.

How can the function be improved? Correct diagnosis
is an Essential part of the treatment process. Making a plaster model of the foot in its ideal position allows a custom made insole (Orthotic Device) to be made which is an exact fit to the shape of the foot.

Function Orthotic
Devices can control the excessive movement of the limb and so reduce
excessive wear and tear in the joints and muscles. Careful monitoring and follow up ensures comfortable wear of the Orthotic Devices and allows the position of the feet and legs to be regularly assessed. Minor adjustments to the Orthotic Devices allow for any changes that take place in the feet and legs to be incorporated into the devices. |
